Grading Policy
Grading scale is as follows:
Grades 1-2
M= Mastering, 89.5%-100%
D= Developing, 80%-89.4%
E= Emerging, 79.4% or below
Mastering indicates a student has a complete understanding of the concepts being taught and assessed.
Developing indicates a student has an understanding of the concepts, but needs to continue to practice skills to fully master the content independently.
Emerging indicates that a student does not have a complete understanding of the concepts yet.
Grades 3-5
A=Excellent 100%-94%
B-Above Average 93%-85%
C= Average 84%-75%
D= Below Average 74%-65%
F= Very Poor
Students will be evaluated on the following:
1. Positive attitude
2. Participation
3. Effort
4. Completion of each art project's criteria, (for example, in a landscape drawing, the criteria might be to show the three sections of a landscape: Foreground, Middleground and Background.)
